Comfort Home Care is dedicated to its responsibility to take whatever measures possible to protect both staff and Clients during the current climate of uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19 (Corona virus).

All staff will be receiving information in the form of official Government Public Health Guidance. This information has been especially collated for community care and residential settings.

While confirmation of cases in Devon will undoubtedly increase anxiety among clients and staff, it’s important to remain calm but vigilant, and to take necessary steps.

They include ensuring good personal and hand hygiene, by:

• Making sure that people wash their hands well with soap and water, (or hand gels can be a good substitute, especially were they contain 60% or more alcohol).

• Maintaining personal hygiene when coughing or sneezing is also important – use a tissue rather than your hands and then throw it away.

• It is good general practice to use cleaning wipes to give surfaces a regular clean.

Staff have been encouraged to maintain their impeccable levels of infection control procedure, including wearing personal protective equipment for ALL care duties, regardless of perceived ‘lesser risk’, and to ensure soiled PPE items are disposed of responsibly in line with policy.
